The Atlanta Braves play their home games at Truist Park.

What Jersey Numbers are Retired by the Atlanta Braves?

The Braves have retired 10 numbers of its most legendary players in franchise history, in addition to Jackie Robinson's #42, which is retired league-wide. Former two-time MVP in Atlanta Dale Murphy's #3 was retired by the team years ago, and all-time managerial wins leader who led the team to three World Series appearances and a title in 1995 Bobby Cox's #6 is also retired. The core of those great '90s Braves teams, Chipper Jones and starting pitchers John Smoltz, Greg Maddux, and Tom Glavine have their numbers #10, #29, #31, and #47 retired, respectively. Hall of Fame pitchers Warren Spahn's #21 and Phil Niekro's #35 are retired, as well as infielder Eddie Matthews' #41. And last but certainly not least of the retired numbers for the franchise is former all-time MLB home runs leader Hank Aaron's #44.

Who are the Atlanta Braves' Biggest Rivals?

The Braves have had a heated rivalry over the years with their NL East foe New York Mets, who play their home games at Citi Field. Another long-time rival is another team who plays within their division, the Philadelphia Phillies, who call Citizens Bank Park their home.

Atlanta Braves Prospects to Watch

The Braves have a strong farm system entering 2021, with some top prospects that rank among the best in all of baseball. Their top-ranked prospect is outfielder Christian Pache, who actually made his Major League debut last fall in the playoffs. He's got an 80 grade field tool that makes him one of the best defensive center fielders in the game right now, and that may eventually push superstar Ronald Acuña to a corner outfield spot soon enough when he's up for good sometime later in 2021. Another outfielder, 2017 2nd round pick Drew Waters, toolsy switch-hitter who should be a mainstay in one of the corner outfield spots for the team as early as later this season. Shea Langeliers projects to be the catcher of the future for the franchise, and the 2019 first round pick is one of the better defensive catching prospects in the game, with a good hit tool for the position, to boot. Braves fans should expect to see him help the Major League club as soon as 2022.

Braves Hope to Repeat 2020 Successes and More in 2021

The Braves fell just short of making their first trip to the World Series since 1999 last October, losing in the NLCS to the Dodgers after blowing a 3-1 series lead. They return much of their star core, including reigning MVP first baseman Freddie Freeman and All-Star outfielder Ronald Acuña, who may be the most dynamic player in the entire sport today, as well. If their pitching staff can continue its great run and former top prospect Ian Anderson emerges as the front of the rotation starter he was projected to be, Atlanta should be among the favorites to win the NL East along with its rival New York, and perhaps even to win the whole NL pennant this year.

Who is the Atlanta Braves' Manager?

The manager of the Braves is Brian Snitker, who is entering his fifth full season at the helm leading the club since taking over mid-year in 2016. He's done an excellent job as of late, leading the team to the NL East crown in each of the last three seasons and finishing just one game shy of reaching the World Series in 2020 before falling to the eventual champion Dodgers. Atlanta is in good hands with Snitker leading the way, and he should be in charge for years to come as long as the team keeps performing this well.
