Where do the Washington Nationals play their home games?

The Washington Nationals play their home games at Nationals Park.

What Jersey Numbers are Retired By the Washington Nationals?

In addition to Jackie Robinson's #42, which is retired league-wide, the Nationals/Expos have retired the numbers of four of its greatest players in franchise history. That includes Hall of Fame catcher Gary Carter's #8, who was a seven-time All-Star in his eleven seasons in Montreal with the Expos. The #10 is retired for both Rusty Staub, who despite playing just three seasons in Montreal was honored as the team's first All-Star, and Hall of Fame outfielder Andre Dawson, who played his first 10 seasons in Montreal, where he was named an All-Star three times and won the NL Rookie of the Year award. Hall of Fame outfielder Tim Raines' #30 was also retired, as he was a seven-time All-Star in Montreal and is the franchise's all-time leader in steals.

Who are the Washington Nationals' Biggest Rivals?

The Nationals have a major rivalry with their NL East foe Philadelphia Phillies, who signed away their former franchise superstar Bryce Harper to a long-term deal just a few years ago, and the Phillies play their home games at Citizens Bank Park. Washington also has a local rivalry with the Baltimore Orioles, who play just up north at Camden Yards.

Washington Nationals Prospects to Watch

The Nationals' top prospect coming into the 2021 season is their first round draft pick from 2020, right-handed starter Cade Cavalli. Cavalli has great stuff with room to grow, and he should be expected to make his debut sometime in 2022, which is welcome news for Nats fans. Another top prospect of theirs is their first round pick from 2019, Jackson Rutledge, another right-handed starting pitcher with a fastball that grades out as a 70 and good secondary pitches. He should also be up to the show in 2022, and if both pan out the way Washington hopes, they could have some excellent young talent fronting their starting staff for years to come.

Nationals Seeking Return to Playoffs After Disappointing 2020

The Nats failed to make the postseason in 2020 after winning it all the year before, though some would argue the Covid-shortened season may have had something to do with that, as they won their World Series on the back of a huge late-season run in 2019. They have plenty of talent on their roster that should help them compete for the NL East title and more, with superstar outfielder Juan Soto and speedy shortstop Trea Turner leading the way. If their triumvirate of aces Max Scherzer, Steven Strasburg, and Patrick Corbin can regain form after injuries and/or down years last year, a Wild Card berth should be the least of expectations for the fan base.

Who is the Washington Nationals' Manager?

The manager of the Washington Nationals is Dave Martinez, who's enters his fourth season as the team's skipper in 2021. He guided the Nats to a World Series championship in his second year at the helm and has them poised to make a run once again this year with a deep and talented roster in D.C.
