The Chicago Bulls entered the NBA as an expansion team, beginning play in the 1966-67 season. The Bulls were the first and only expansion team to make the playoffs in their first season. The franchise had some periods of success, but was elevated to new heights after adding Michael Jordan in the famed 1984 draft. Led by Jordan, the Bulls won six NBA championships in the 1990s. The Bulls struggled following the end of the dynasty, but began a resurgence in the 2010s behind a core of Derrick Rose, Jimmy Butler, Joakim Noah, and head coach Tom Thibodeau.
