Watch the Los Angeles Clippers' journey as they pursue a Hollywood ending this season. We'll take a closer look at all the marquee matchups and games against the NBA's brightest stars on the Clippers' complete 2021-22 regular-season schedule.

Who Are the Los Angeles Clippers?

The LA Clippers are a professional basketball team in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. The franchise joined the NBA as the expansion Buffalo Braves in 1970. Buffalo missed the playoffs in five of eight seasons before new ownership relocated the franchise to San Diego in 1978 and rebranded as the San Diego Clippers. The Clippers continued to struggle in their new home, missing the playoffs for six consecutive seasons before owner Donald Sterling moved the team to Los Angeles without league approval. The NBA ultimately steeped a hefty fine on Sterling, but the team remained in Los Angeles. Losing has been the soundtrack for the franchise. The Buffalo Braves missed the playoffs in the franchise's first three seasons before future Hall of Fame coach Jack Ramsay and future Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo guided them to three consecutive Eastern Conference semifinals from 1974 to 1976. McAdoo earned NBA MVP honors in 1975, but he couldn't carry the Braves to the Finals. Ramsay and McAdoo's playoff appearance in 1976 was the last bit of good news for the franchise for the next 15 seasons. The Braves-turned-Clippers missed the postseason in three cities during a decade-and-a-half of misery. The franchise cycled through 11 head coaches in 15 seasons and became a punchline to basketball fans. The San Diego Clippers showcased prolific scorer World B. Free but struggled mightily with five losing seasons during their six-year stay. Future Hall of Famer Bill Walton was expected to lift the franchise but was plagued by foot injuries for much of his tenure in San Diego. The move to Los Angeles didn't change the franchise's fortune. The Clippers' roster was sprinkled with solid veterans like Norm Nixon, Derek Smith, and Marques Johnson, but the injury bug reared its ugly head to prevent them from returning to the postseason. The Los Angeles Clippers lost at least 50 games in their first seven seasons after moving from San Diego. They bottomed out in 1986-87 by finishing 12-70, which was the second-worst single-season record in NBA history to that point. Future Hall of Fame coach Larry Brown took over midway through the 1991-92 season to help the Clippers reach the playoffs for the first time in 16 years. Rising star Danny Manning, Charles Smith, Norm Nixon, and Loy Vaught formed the nucleus of a promising squad. Although the Clippers were bounced in the first round of the playoffs, there was optimism that Brown's core could grow and become a viable contender. However, the Clippers lost in the first round of the playoffs again the following season before Brown resigned and took the Indiana Pacers job. The Clippers fell back into irrelevance for the next decade. Los Angeles missed the playoffs in 11 of the next 12 seasons. Their only playoff appearance (1996-97) resulted in a first-round exit. The Clippers seemingly turned a corner when Mike Dunleavy's team led by Elton Brand, Sam Cassell, and Corey Maggette took the franchise to its first playoff series win in 30 years in 2006. But it didn't last. Los Angeles missed the playoffs for the next five seasons before a revival in the 2010s. The Clippers traded for perennial All-Star guard Chris Paul to form a formidable duo with Blake Griffin. The Clippers became known as Lob City during an exciting time on the court for the franchise. Paul and Griffin topped 50 wins and made the playoffs for all six seasons that they played together. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver levied a lifetime ban on Donald Sterling in 2014 for controversial remarks that paved the way for new owner Steve Ballmer. The Clippers were no longer a laughing stock, but they still couldn't manage to make the Western Conference finals. Doc Rivers helped turn the franchise around but was fired after seven seasons. Ty Lue took over and leaned on Paul George in the playoffs to help the Clippers reach the Western Conference finals for the first time in franchise history in 2021.

Los Angeles Clippers Schedule for 2021/2022

Paul George proved that he could carry the load in the playoffs last season after Kawhi Leonard was out with a knee injury, but can the Clippers realistically expect that to happen again? The Clippers might not challenge for one of the top few playoff seeds in the loaded Western Conference, but they could be viable title threats again if a healthy Leonard returns by the postseason.
