History and Overview

Since opening in the summer of 1968, PNC Bank Arts Center has established itself as one of the most popular outdoor music venues not only in the New York Metropolitan area, but entire country. PNC Bank Arts Center can hold up to 17,500 people, with 7,000 seats and 10,500 on the lawn. In 1996, PNC Bank Arts Center went through a large expansion, doubling the size of the lawn to its current capacity of 10,500 and adding 2,000 seats to the amphitheatre. Originally named the "Garden State Arts Center", PNC Bank Arts Center has been home to artist such as Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, and Whitney Houston to name a few.

PNC Bank Arts Center Seat Numbers

The PNC Bank Arts Center seat numbers follow a basic pattern where seat number 1 (or two) will always be on the aisle closest to the center to the venue. The seat number at PNC are also split into odd and even numbers depending on which side of the venue you are on. The sections on the left side of the venue when facing the stage (sections ending in 3, 4, or 5) will be odd-numbered seating, and the right side of the venue when facing the stage (sections ending in 1 or 2) will be even-numbered seats. Keeping this is in mind, the lowest seat number will be closest to the center of the stage. So for example, seat 2 in section 101 will be closest to section 102, and seat 1 in Section 104 will be closest to section 103. So in conclusion, the lower your seat number, the closer you will be to the center of the venue and thus, the better your seat at PNC Bank Arts Center.
